INT'L Rock 'N Roll FAVORITE CIRRONE JOINS STARLINER MEDIA
International Rock 'n Roll favorite Cirrone is now represented in North America by Starliner Media. Riding a wave of critical acclaim, their debut disc, "Uplands Park Road" was named 'Album Of The Year', Cirrone is now looking to make their mark on North America.
Growing up in Palermo, Italy, the Cirrone brothers had a love for The Beatles. When middle child Bruno suggested the trio form their band, they wanted to pay tribute to their musical heroes and "Apple Scruffs" was born. Fate had other plans, however, as club promoters, dj's and fans always seemed to refer to them as the "Cirrone band". Realizing there was no point in fighting it, Alessandro, Bruno and Mirko decided it was meant for them to be known as "Cirrone".
With harmonies only family members can create, Cirrone's music finds its roots in 60's and 70's pop and rock. With influences ranging from the aforementioned Beatles, to Badfinger, the Kinks, the Bee Gees, Big Star and more, Cirrone brings a fresh take on a sound generations of music fans have come to know and love.
"Cirrone have taken the musical foundation of classic power pop and rock and added their own unique twist," says "Everybody's Favorite Tour Guide" James D. Jones, host and creator of the "Magical Mystery Tour" radio program. "They manage to deliver a sound that is like comfort food for your ears, yet it sounds new and fresh at the same time. This has allowed them to build a fan base that spans generations, much like their musical heroes have done."
Whether headlining the International Pop Overthrow Festival or Beatleweek at the famed Cavern Club in Liverpool, England, Cirrone has caught the ear of music fans everywhere. Of the 140+ bands performing at the IPO festival, they were the only one selected by the BBC for a feature segment. The response was so overwhelming and the brothers so charming, they were asked to appear on another BBC network program as well.
"Cirrone has the rare ability to balance critical acclaim and commercial viability," says Starliner Media's Michael Boswell. "Musical integrity is everything to them, but they also realize that one half of the phrase "music business" is just that- business. So they understand that in order to continue to make records and tour, they need to be savvy with their marketing and support their partners to their fullest extent. And when your audience is comprised of three or four generations of music fans, they bring a unique opportunity to those partners."
"We have been fortunate to play all over Europe, some places in the Middle East, we have some dates coming up in Dubai and the U.A.E., as well as a few gigs in the U.S.," says Bruno. " We are ready now, though, to do a big North American tour in 2019."
